Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility. This will be done at your pressure preference.Â
A paraffin wax treatment is usually done on the hands and/or feet. Â This is a very relaxing and beneficial treatment for both your hands and feet. The heat of the wax relaxes the muscles and gets deep down into the joints. This treatment includes dipping your hands and/or feet into paraffin wax and then wrapping them in plastic wrap. We let this sit for about 10 minutes then peel off the wax. We finish the treatment with a light massage. This can be done as its own appointment or added onto a full body massage.
I use a granulated sugar usually scented with an essential oil to scrub the dead skin and rough spots off of the feet. We start with damp hot towels around the feet. We then use the scrub and massage the scrub into the feet for about 5 minutes. We then use the still hot towel to wash the sugar off of the feet. We finish the session with a nice foot massage. This is a great add on to any full body massage or just alone.
